Allan Schinnour is a member of the Schinnour Matkin & Pichette law firm.  He provides general income tax advice for entities and individuals as well as transaction tax planning with an emphasis on resort and real estate development matters.  He has significant experience providing both Canadian and international tax advice for inbound and outbound investments and transactions.  Recent projects in which he has been involved in include acquisitions, reorganizations and financing structures for resorts in Belize, S.A., Puerto Vallarta and the Baja Peninsula in Mexico, Hawaii in the United States and numerous projects in Canada primarily in the Western Provinces, including hotels, golf courses, time share resorts and development land banking.

Since the introduction of the GST in Canada, Allan has spent considerable time reviewing, assessing and applying the GST legislation to transactions.  From the period of July, 1988 to June, 2004 he was an associate and partner of the Macleod Dixon, LLP law firm where he was a member of that firm's tax practice group.  Prior to joining Macleod Dixon, LLP, Allan spent the previous 16 years working in his family's farm implement dealerships and manufacturing divisions.
